My career as a Chef began in the restaurants of both my
grandfather and father, famous restauranteurs in
Coral Gables, Florida. The Glorified Delicatessen and
Marshall Majors Restaurant were favorites of not only locals but politicians, celebrities and sports figures alike.
I studied Hotel and Restaurant Administration at Boston University and graduated with a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
In 1990 ,I opened my first restaurant, M&M’s Restaurant & Catering in Palm City, Florida and a second location in Stuart, Florida in 2000.
In 2002, I decided to further my career and took the position as Executive Chef at the Pavilion Resort and Spa, Dr.Robert Cooper. It was during this time that I began to freelance and created Chef Melissa Major “Comfort food with a Gourmet Flair”.
Today 2013 ,my focus is on Clean and Healthy "Feel Great" food
for all types of Parties!!
I create tantalizing dishes for all occasions. I cater events for corporations as well as Non-profit organizations. I have a passion to cook for individuals, whether it be an intimate gathering or a large party.
Working for my clients has taken me around the world . I am frequently asked to travel abroad as a private chef.
Locally , I am a member of the Palm City and Martin County Chamber of Commerce.
